audio snippets for new hendrix tribute album

why do tribute albums suck so hard? anywya, i thought this was meant to be a 'soul' covers album of hendrix classics. not sure how sting and clapton are here with that in mind, but they dont veer too far from the format of turning in something shite. john lee hooker, lenny kravitz (really) and chaka khan seem to be the best (especially hooker) but everyone else cant wait to prove that theyre pants.
