DEAR ILM: help me pick a new favourite genre!

ok ladies and gents: it is time to give your old pal, occassional poster astroblaster a new favourite genre.

you see, when someone asks me what i'm into, i like to switch it up a bit, so i try to avoid saying "i like everything", because i find it gets me dismissed a heckuva lot faster. right now you'd probably catch me saying something like "ahhh you know... i find myself into alot of the hip hop these days... always been into the electronic type-a-shit. older rock and that. indie sorts a things.. yah... world music.. japanise pop ^(1) fuck I DONT KNOW. i guess im into alot of stuff ^(2)"

notes:
(1) i would say this slightly ironically. giving people the impression im joking. but im not. i'm daring them to call my bluff
(2) notice i eventually cop out anyway.

what i wanna do here is this: just pick two and stick with it.

so hip hop will be one right now. i listen to alot of it.

but what's the other one gonna be?

it'll look and sound a little like this when we're done here.

"hip hop and ____________. "

try and make me look really cool.

real genres only! i do not want to see "post modern psychedelic electro polka" on this thread!

SUGGESTITH UNTO ME NOW ILM!

Or just say "I like everything unless it isn't mainstream." I mean, that would be an interesting response at the very least. It'd intigue me at least.

You need a place name, maybe even two. For instance "Hip-hop and Detroit techno", or "NY hip-hop and German noise".

Try some Doo Wop. It's kinda old-school rap. You'll appear much more mature, Not necessarily more intelligent, though.
