METHOD MAN ft. BUSTA RHYMES - What's Happenin' #10
MORRISSEY - Irish Blood, English Heart #7

FRANKEE - F.U. Right Back #1
THE CHARLATANS - Up At The Lake #39

ALANIS MORRISSETTE - Everything #17 (I actually own Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. I paid $2 for it at a sale because I wanted the 2CD box it came in to replace a broken one. I'm not ashamed, it's not too horrible)
AVRIL LAVIGNE - Don't Tell Me #5
KASABIAN - Club Foot #25

Bonus round: Goldfrapp (tho with two of 2003's best singles being re-released the same week, either going up would be luvvly)

Prince wasn't in the top 75. I don't give points for predicting a song won't enter the top 75, simply because the release schedules are so confusing that it's often difficult to tell if something's been released or not unless it winds up in the top 75.

#1: Eamon
#23: HIM
And yes, I bought the Ballboy single. They really aren't as good as they used to be.)

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 10 May 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, well make my Millwall one #63

SPECIAL "STILL AVAILABLE IN ALL GOOD RECORD SHOPS" BONUS ROUND: RAVEONETTES

I forgot to put in a random number. O.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 10 May 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I bought the Ballboy single too.. the biggest disappointment was how short the best song - 'I lost you, but I found country music' with Laura Cantrell was. It felt like that could have been something really great, but they just sort of threw it out, and left it there..

never mind.

Hray, I am still ahead of Everyone Who Is No Longer Playing, and behind Everyone Who Is Still Playing. Thought I'd done well last week, too..

Goldfrapp

#1 Frankie, perhaps. Same song as Eamonn's then. Am I being cynical in suspecting the whole thing was pre-planned?

Also, you've all predicted Moz to go in very high. I think a #4 chart entry would be the best of his career. Is that likely?

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 10 May 2004 10:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Morrissey's had 5 solo top 10 singles, highest being #5 for Suedehead. This has had a fair degree of build-up to it as well, and aside from Frankee I don't reckon anyone else in the list will chart higher than him. This is an 'event', after all. Avwiw punching a mirror in her video isn't quite the same thing.

(now counts as still monday evening, right? right?)

cis (cis), Monday, 10 May 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, yes, all closed off etc. There's a wee thread about midweeks up top.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 10:29 (twenty-one years ago)

1st new entry is Peter Doherty and his Babyshambles at #32. Not in the picks, no. I'm guessing that Gomez, Krall and Millwall are missing out.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Charlatans #23 - 5 for Alex & Scott
Alan Is #22 - 10 for Grout

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Goldfrapp #20, which is basically 10 points for everyone but me.
Kasabian #19 (for fuck's sakes) - no points.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Joss Stone #18 - 5 for Hobart, 1 for Flowers

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Method Man #17 - 5 for Tom, 1 for Grout

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Jay-Z #12. Somehow I completely missed this in the picks, which is odd.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

2Play #8 - 5 for Tom.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Avwiw #5 - 10 for me, Ed & Grout, 5 for Alex & Hobart, 1 for Jelly, Tom and Zappi.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 16:29 (twenty-one years ago)

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Frankee #1 - 20 for everyone except Cis, who gets 5, and Tom May who picked her to be #14 so he doesn't get anything.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Moz #3...

I look forward to receiving my bet-winning pint, William.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Sunday, 16 May 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I bet you bloody do.
