Nobody, nobody else in this whole land.
Nobody can do it like McDonald's can:
Everybody always knew it,
Nobody can do it like McDonald's can.

Nobody else has the taste of a Big Mac.(tm)
Nobody has those famous fries
That keeps you comin' back
Nobody serves you faster, nobody can.
You're the reason we do it,
Nobody can do it like McDonald's can.
Nobody!"

I was pissed off when they substituted this for 'We Do It All For You', that had a nice IV-V-I cadence

It's curious that they keyed their slogan of the day to such a negative word: NObody. Arguably, you even see "Nobody" before you see their logo, so it suggests the album is completely generic, nondescript, not to be noticed -- this album is by a Nobody -- which probably wasn't a great worry of theirs since I bet this thing wasn't intended for sale.

McDonald's had a great calendar for kids the year before, it had lots of little glow-in-the-dark patches. That totally kicked ass. I don't even remember the "Nobody" ad compaign.

"Johnny Pacheco"?

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Also dig the ad music, which is pratically as balkanized as radio is/was: "disco" (Rose Royce, Peabo Bryson, Gloria Gaynor), "MOR" (Paul Anka, Seals & Crofts), "country" (Tammy Wynette, Statler Brothers), "Latin" (Lissette, Johnny Pacheco), and "easy listening" (probably everything else, if memory serves).

Actually, my bad...Peabo Bryson wasn't disco at all, more like straight-up smooth R&B.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Sunday, 9 May 2004 23:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm waiting for McDonald's next musical campaign that will try and get all crunk.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 10 May 2004 01:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Look, if Usher can get with it, Mickey D's should be a cinch.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Monday, 10 May 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I was too young for this, but it's GOTTA be better than the Satanic sonic jism of "I'm Lovin' It"!!

There should be a line about sauce drippin' from one's McNuggets.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 10 May 2004 02:37 (twenty-one years ago)

The first two Peabo Bryson albums are great. Maybe the later ones are too! I dunno, I've never heard them. But I love the first two. "Reaching For the Sky" is an amazing song.

Broheems (diamond), Monday, 10 May 2004 02:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I've had the "Nobody Can Do It" jingle in my head for two solid days now. Thanks.

This thread feels like a Trachtenberg Family show.
