i saw a record in amoeba that had teddy randazzo playing an arp i think. i cant remember what it was now but it seemed to be some kind of spacejazzfunk kind of thing, and i wondered, could this really be the same Teddy Randazzo that i know from, er, something else (a pop-dance 60s hit i think?)

memory is kind of cloudy on all this, so, basically, this is an RFI of a thread, or an opportunity to say what you think of teddy randazzo

He wrote good songs and starred in Alan Freed movies, and it's fascinating to think that a guy responsible for anything called Teddy Randazzo Twists would later have an Arp record under his belt.

(No, I didn't know any of this off-hand, but I checked the imdb and allmusic only because I could've sworn he was in a MSTied film, which I guess he wasn't.)

He just died, too, you know. Wrote "Out of My Head" for Little Anthony and other genius songs.

He's in the fabulous 'The Girl Can't Help It,' though his group the Chuckles' song is hardly the best tune there.

He wrote practically a full side of the great 'Best of Little Anthony' I own on vinyl . . .
