Russ, Tuesday, 11 May 2004 07:03 (twenty-one years ago)

lotsa good-ass shows. i'll miss them all because i'm hungry, broke and miserable. Plus I'm killing myself working overtime. I'm even doing papers for college kids for cash now.

PG Six is way more handsome in person than that Stephen Hawking-looking pic above would have you believe.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

he looks like a combination of Bud Cort and Britt Walford in that picture.

I look like a combination of Leee and Kenny Rogers.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 11 May 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

apparently Samara is playing with a band on Saturday.
Brad Traux of Jah Division, Home, and Broke Review is in the band, but I'm not sure who else...

Russ, Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

her song on the comp. Hisham curated is good.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

brad is cute.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

brad is a great bass player.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

hee hee, I knew lauren was gonna say that.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

hey gygax! I had this weird dream about you and Jon Williams last night, remind me to email you about it.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

also lauren, did i ever talk to you about getting that whatever you thingy call it?

xpost: hstencil, was it a 3way with unicorns and the olsen twins dj-ing microhouse/electroclash?

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

and a great bass player, yes, which is really what's important. i don't think the whatever thingy was discussed any further. should we re-open inquiry?

xpost

ew.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, let's! (to lauren that is).

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

for those dying of curiosity, porkchop will actually be djing Tonic friday night.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

NOT CREEPY AT ALL, GUYS.

(xpost to lauren & gygax & hstencil)

Ian Johnson (orion), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

gygax! no it was like you, me, him and some girls driving around Louisville in a blue 1980s Ford Taurus in wintertime. At some point we drove to a "casino" in some made-up town called Washington. That's about it, really.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Ian you're just jealous you weren't in my dream.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

actually there is an Old Washington, Kentucky, just west of Maysville and south of, wait for it, Moransburg.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

was it a lt. blue taurus wagon or coupe? this is important!

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

coupe, and it wasn't light blue, more of a navy blue.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

> for those dying of curiosity, porkchop will actually be djing Tonic friday night.

huh.
that's the first I've heard of it.
is he DJing both shows?
any idea re: Stachemaster and Dirty Fingers?

Russ, Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

well, even if it's true re: Porkchop, as a concession Mike Burke will be spinning latin jams in between bands on Friday, and Harry Rosenblum will be doing projections.

Russ, Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Stachemaster and Dirty Fingers will be doing it, I suggested to Porkchop that he try to make it to Tommy's after Subtonic, so who knows. He called me from the hamptons the other day(yesterday?) after Bryan Kasenic had seen the Tommy's post on nyhappenings. Bryan called Porkchop because he'd already booked him, Porkchop didn't think he'd definately agreed to do Tommys, or maybe he had the dates mixed up, or maybe James(stachemaster) didn't know he was doing Tonic or something. Oh well.

I should be there saturday night. I haven't seen Simon Wickham-Smith since he and Richard Youngs played with Tony Conrad and Zeena Parkins at the Table of the Elements festival at the knit many, many years ago.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

cool, I hope you make it there, Dan.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess this is what happens when you read nyhaps selectively...
thanks for the heads-up, Dan.
not a big deal at all.

Russ, Thursday, 13 May 2004 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

eight years pass...
