i'm liking this. some of t.wheeler's more classic songwriting with slightly more agressive backing but without comprimising the typical ash melodic sound. i'm not crazy over it but much better than i was expecting from them.

hmmm...when i heard the single it seemed to me that they may be making the same mistakes they did with nu-clear sounds (ie. failing to realise that they are a pop group, not a rock band). hopefully the album will put this right, although i don't think i'll be rushing out to buy it.

It's OK, definitely better than Nu-Clear sounds. More consistent than Free All Angels, but nothing as good as Burn Baby Burn, sadly.

no this re-cements their pop credentials but with a harder sound. but that harder sound is so commercial these days it sounds ultra pop. not a one to rush out and get but a one for old ash fans to mull over.

seriously. some of the better tracks on this are very very classic wheeler songs. ok not quite as pop as burn baby burn etc but doing that whole rockpop thing very very well.

I haven't heard all the recorded tracks yet, but they played all the songs off the new album when I saw them live back in March, and mixed among all their old songs, this newer stuff isn't really that much different.

There are some really good songs on the new album I think. I love Evil Eye. It's the sort of song that stays in your head after just one listen.
