tru masta and mathematics are making better beats than rza now, la the darkman has done at least three tracks i love, and killah priest, fuck, he's just an incredible mc no matter who he rides with. i can't make any claims for cappa other than a few dope toss-offs but i think tracer likes him. so do you avoid wu-affiliates on principle or what?

and is the remedy album as bad as the single?

During the Sept. 11 protests here at Berkeley they were playing that Remedy track "Never Again" on the loudspeaker.

Anyways, I agree with you on Killah Priest (was his 2nd LP really that bad, I havent heard it) and Darkman as well. Cappa, Killarmy, Royal Fam, Black Knights or whatever etc. generally fail to leave too much of an impression on me. Sunz of Man was ok from what I remember, except Killah Priest didn't have enough presence on the album. And if it counts as killa b-teamers, I enjoyed the first two Gravediggaz albums for their over the top morbid/spiritual melodrama.

I actually used to flock to wu-affiliates on principle but I eventually realized that a good deal of them were subpar. And then Wu started getting subpar. Really... what happened to the beats on Digital Bullet?

You are so right about Killah Priest. Killarmy is just terrible. The Capadonna record is REALLY good (well, better than Wu-Tang Forever and the W, anyway :) ) and underappreciated to the same degree as Supreme Clientele was. I don't know much about the other stuff.

For my favorite Wu record of all time Ethan go to Fat Beats and see if they have this bootleg double LP called "Shaolin Sounds" It's got the original tracks that all the big early hits were sampled from.

The first KillArmy single 'Camouflage Ninjas' is excellent, better than anything off 'Forever', and indeed Tru Master has always made good beats. But then I bought 2 of their albums and they were so awful I have paid almost no attention to Wu-buddies since. I'm sure the rest of them can't be much worse than the last Raekwon album tho.

Killah Priest's lyrics are dope, but his flow is kinda stiff and his cadences always sound the same. Plus the beats on his records vary greatly in quality. Priesthood is still a great Christian mysticist rap album though.
