The Mars Volta

What are everyone's feelings about this band? I personally enjoy the music a lot, as well as their jammy, but suprisingly enthralling live show. Sure, they often don't do a good job of hiding their influences, but I'd rather be listening to a current band that's influenced by someone like Can rather than another band that sounds like At the Drive-in, which is a pretty rehashed sound at this point. All this and I find their album and EP to both be brilliant.

Yeh, why ask questions when you can study poncy threads from last year?

Mars Volta's great, of course. They are more than anything artists and musicians, and it's good theres still an audience for that. A bit too well-regarded for some people (me included) to forgive the over indulgent song-writing and nonsensical song-titling.

And there's Defacto.

Because you can learn to use the search function and the archive, and contribute to the previous discussions.
