RFI - African rock?

Are there any African bands (South Africa excepted) on record who play full-on metal or punk music? I heard there was a Malagasy metal band called Cockroach 2000, who were described as a 'poor copy of American rock' (i.e. they must be fantastic!). If any of this stuff exists where can I get ahold of it?

I found this though the releases page is a little dire: one of their 2 current releases has been "postponed to 2003, due to bands being caught in a labyrinth"
