Well, Guns & Roses' _Appetite_ is overrated, right? I mean, really, come on, it's the _Nevermind_ of hard rock metal heading - that is, GOOD, damn good, but not the mind-boggling source of rampant change that most think.

Not at all, 'Appettite for Destruction' is one of the underrated albums of the 80s along side Metallica's '...And Justice For All', Scitti Politti's 'Cupid & Psyche '85', Schoolly D's ' Saturday Night', 'Welcome to the Pleasuredome', Talk Talk's 'Colour of Spring' is underrated vs their later work, Reese & Santonio's work of the 80s and the collected works of Fun Fun.

Overrated: the collected works of Joy Division and New Order tend to be a bit overrated, and dare I say it: 'Can You Feel It' by Fingers Inc. is slightly overrated (probably mindblowing at the time, nowadays just another house track). Oh and 'Jack U Body' = also overrated.

Overrated: Eric B. & Rakim, Paid in Full. Filler filler filler. ("Chinese Mathematics"? come fucking on)

Underrated: Marshall Crenshaw, Field Day--his best, one of the best pop-rock records ever; blows everything Oasis ever did out of the water (not that it takes much).

a couple more underrated items, both rock, The Chords - So Far Away, Lambrettas - Beat Boys in the Jet Age, actually there is a lot of great underrated mod revival stuff. Well, it's underrated in the sense that people only think of the Jam when they think of mod revival, maybe the Jam are a bit overrated then.
