Help! I'm burning a cd of mash-ups for a friend who's mash-up ignorant.

I've gotten rid of most of the ones I ever had, so now I have to begin downloading from scratch to assemble a collection (enough to fill up 80 mins, anyway). The one that piqued her interest was "Ray of Gob," so recommend others in the pop vs. rock or hip-hop vs. rock vein that hold up on repeated listens.

Thanks.

i did a Rough Guide here but it has an empthasis on 'history' - you could ignore that and focus on the bangers

In addition to Lance Lockarm, also seek out Matt Tuozzo's mash-ups, particularly Xtina vs Squarepusher, Michael Jackson vs Global Communication, and The Beastie Boys vs Autechre.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 June 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

His Xtina vs Squarepusher one's okay, but I didn't like anything else. Including the guy.

nice! never was a fan of NIN ( had the downward spiral with a bunch of other cds for "1 cent" thank you columbia club. also, blunderyears.jpg of me on the dancefloor rocking out to Closer back then, trying to feel it but nope. will paste all this into my coolstorybro.txt autobio.) but "head like a hole" popped up in my head while listening to "smoke on the water" on the radio a few days ago at work. thought of reviving the "unrequired mashup suggestion" thread but 2 of em at the time is a bit rich.

that one satisfies all my NIN mashup needs tho, so poppy.

Ha! I'd already gotten rid of most of the mash-ups I'd ever had by the summer of 2004, according to me. That's too bad. I'd love to go back and listen to them now.

Also, I don't think I ever completed this cd.

I was at the cinema tonight and both before and after the film a mash up of Destiny's Child's "Say My Name" and the Cardigans' "My Favourite Game" was being piped through the building.
