Or, more accurately, who is your favourite band that no one will ever hear of? They might be a local bar band, they might be YOUR band, they might be your best friends' band. Start listing the obscure little gems that we're all missing. MP3's and links a bonus.

I'd post the link for Japanther, but they don't have a site.

Your life will and must be changed by MOTO, a.k.a. Masters of the Obvious. http://moto.iuma.com will do it. Click through to "Album 1" and play "Magic Words."

In the case of Celesteville, he was my flat/housemate for about four years, so there you go. ;-)

moto wears thin very fast, joke bands always do. only, of course, if this is the same one that did 'crucify my penis'? i don't know any obscure bands. the only local band i like is the czars and they are already international.

Can't imagine who'll ever hear London songwriter Sergant Buzfuz, he's an amazing lyricist who looks like a cross between Michael Stipe and Fungus The Bogeyman. "She said I was a lothario, I looked in the dictionary / L.O.T.H. see libertine, L.I.B. / a man who leads a nefarious, an immoral life / I said thanks, she said: you skate on the thinnest ice." He had an album called "Obsessive Compulsive Pour Homme" out in January on his own label.

My friends are a female-fronted prog band called Blusher, who feminise that Radiohead epic slightly-experimental rock thing. Two girls, two boys. Their guitarist/singer/songwriter Jen is one of the biggest talents in the world (really) and no-one's noticed yet except Andy Ross. http://www.blusher.net/

The Speed Of Sound - the core trio of Baby Birkin plus Pete from Marine Research. Retro soundtrack lo-fi http://www.speed-of-sound.com/

one month passes...
hey keith keythkeyth@netscape.net,

you're wrong about moto - they're not a joke band - sarcastic maybe - and they do the best no-frills all-rock live show in chicago.
