In Praise of: Bark Psychosis' "Three Girl Rhumba"

I haven't heard the version of "Three Girl Rhumba" mentioned in the previous post, but it made me pull out the Wire tribute album "Whore" and listen to the wonderful noncover of it by Bark Psychosis. Not only in a different style, but seemingly a whole new song.

What would you say to encourage someone to seek this out?

noodly: these have been very helpful!
But I don't think that I have enough yet to finish my paper.

Up the font size; squeeze the margins. Courier New is your friend.

Only good in bold.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 3 June 2004 00:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's horrible, but I'm not sure it's any worse than Mike Watt's "The 15th."

"one of the only worthwhile wire covers, give it a bash"

the others:

MBV - Map Ref
Scanner - Eardrum Buzz
Solex - Faster Solex, Drill Drill Drill!
Chris & Cosey - Paralleladrill
+ that Klonhertz one, although it's not really much of a cover

I must be the only person who's heard the Watt cover and liked it.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:14 (twenty-one years ago)

there's worse
My Life Story's cover of Outdoor Miner, for instance ...

No, you're not alone.

Ned's quoting Embrace lyrics! I never thought I'd see the day!
