This really sucks! This single event was going to make living with my parents worthwhile for the next month. Now all I have to look forward is renting sad films. DC people - anyone have extra tickets or anything??

peter smith (plsmith), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah it appears I'm not the only one. Why is it that promising bands like this get attention and primetime news coverage in europe (i saw them on the French news on satellite tv) and get college-radio, pitchforkmedia-type attention here, and lose all their momentum.

Past examples: Placebo, Pulp..tons more...

Richard K (Richard K), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

uhhh, Placebo was all over ALTROCK radio dude.

Also, because Europeans are dunces and a bunchy of pasty Britpop loving sodomite weirdos.

Subject: Franz Ferdinand!! (soo rockin!)
Body: Ok, so my good friend turned me onto this new band Franz Ferdinand. And may I say... freakin' AWESOME!! It has been so long since I heard songs sooo good and sooo rockin' that I have to blast it and actually jump around and dance and shake my booty! Seriously, this band rocks, and I mean that cool old fashioned funk edgey raw type of rock, with the catchiest hooks, but pure music all the way thru. An album that will make your head bop and foot tap involuntarily, for sure. Everyone should run out and buy it NOW!! You will NOT be dissappointed!</tt>

What the hell does this sentence mean?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:24 (twenty-one years ago)

It means that they like Queen but don't quite get it right.

The girl who wrote that is going to help me form a group to play "In C" with next year.

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, if you were starting a fan club for Franz Ferdinand, what would you call it?

I am going with either "FFFANZ" or "Friends of Ferdinand."

the san francisco show sold out too just when I finally decided to buy tickets for it. good thing though because it selling out is a sure sign that it would be filled with insufferable pricks.

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

same with the Seattle show!

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)
