Last time there was a riot at the Lemon Tree it was at Chas and Dave. Somehow, I find this strangely appropriate.

it is, but in a very 21s century way. riots are all coordinated between Clear Channel, the local fire officer and the band's press officer for optimum safety and maximum column inches. all stage invaders are issued with laminates after a long screening process to ensure they not only look scruffy enough but that they're also posh enough, as the band members don't like having to be touched by the lower classes.
interesting experiment; search nme.com for the amount of 'shock horror' stories about Babyshambles. then try and find even ONE review or even a mention of their music.

For fucks sake, I've fallen down a flight of stairs and still got up and done a gig! Humph! It actually helps if you're drunk, your body goes all limp and you don't tense up and so you don't break any bones.
(I have no idea, though, how the smoking of crack affects the tension of ligaments during falling injuries.)

I just realised. I made this joke earlier this week:
this is the horny commiseration thread
Not only are they MAKING IT ALL UP, but they are pinching all the ideas off ILX. Shame on you! Get yer own cliches already!

In other, completely unconnected, news ... Aberdeen is the crack capital of Scotland.
Anyway. From where I was standing, everyone was waiting for a good hour, a member of staff went up on stage to announce that Babyshambles would not be appearing and got absolute pelters.
Some twats started having a pop at the security and, frankly, you can't expect to swing for bouncers without getting a sore face in return.
Someone set the fire alarm off, everyone was hearded outside. As someone who was only there to accompany a friend, I was quite pleased to be allowed to go home without having to actually hear the bugger.

well this says it all really.
the shambles are actually pretty good when they want to be live. i saw them at the rhythm factory a few months back and they were quite inspired, even if pete was a little out of it (though not nearly as out of it as he regularly seems to be these days, i think his voice is suffering quite a bit now).

I like the idea of C&D singing "Gercha!" while an audience of assorted pearly kings & queens tear up the seats.
