shes signed?! excellent! hope they dont make her album a hodgepodge like shysties!

Yes - first single is due about November (we have her playing up here end of this month). Album due 2005. Working with Medacyn, Mike Skinner and Sticky, so I am led to believe.

cool. i really hope its more grime based and more daring than shysties. lady sovereign doesnt deserve to have such brilliant talent squandered with R&B-lite songs or corny crossover beats. if her album is shit, i will bulldoze the island offices.

Wiley is probably the first grime artist to have been kicked off a major label...

Mind you, would YOU have bought the Wiley album if all you saw was the "Idlewild cover"?

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Friday, 1 October 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i bought it and liked it very much.

shystie is off polydor! or wanting to walk at least. hmmmmm, this is odd. first wiley is dropped, now shystie is parting ways/leaving/being dropped too. i like how everyone is so fearless about leaving labels in the grime scene and seems so self sufficient.

grime - 1
labels - 0

splooge (thesplooge), Monday, 4 October 2004 20:13 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah I was gonna say, I heard Wiley's already been dropped.

i happen to think it's a beautiful thing, for some bizarre reason. although it probably isnt as (far as i know) theyre not just walking away cos they werent happy with what they had to do, theyre walking away cos theyre being dropped.
