...is finally out. Yes, haterz, lots of it has been previously released, but not in this format (original singles lovingly replicated, compete with original inserts and artwork). The bonus disc of demos and a nineteen minute (!!!!) dub excursion (any similarity to Spinal Tap's jazz odyssey is purely coincidental) is wildly cool as well. Also included, for frothing fanboys like myself, is a trove of archival photographs in a niftly little sleeve. All in all, well worth it. If you order it from the source, MaLiCiOus DaMaGe, you get some neat little badges for the lapel of your jacket (bite me, Jon!)

It's fab!

Please tell me the song is actually called "dub excursion."

"On BASS, Youth. He wrote this."

Hahaha. Nah, as cool as that would be, it's called .....somewhat worryingly.... "Killer Dub [AKA Bread + Jam]".

Except for justifying a higher price,
could someone tell me why this is a 5disc set!?!?!?!?!?

peepee (peepee), Monday, 21 June 2004 15:32 (twenty-one years ago)

they really need a better art director.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 21 June 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Stence...you and I are no longer speaking now. Goodbye.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 21 June 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry dude, for someone who appreciates good cover art, how can you look at that cover and not think it's completely crap? I mean the font alone is T.G.I. Friday's worthy!

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 21 June 2004 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

1. Don't call me "dude".

2. You're derisively dismissing the work of Michael Coles, the man behind most of Killing Joke's album covers and mainman behind Malicious Damage. Not only is he a friend of mine, but I have vast respect for his work. I'm not asserting that the sleeve design for Chaos for Breakfast is his finest work (I'd probably cite the sleeve for the first album or possibbly What's THIS for...!), but it's still a Coles design.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 21 June 2004 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

What's THIS for...! is a much better design. I like the first album's design, too. Sorry that I insulted your friend, but I really think that's a pretty awful cover.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 21 June 2004 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, like I said, it's not his best, but is sure beats this....

Coles was initially tipped to design the sleeve for Killing Joke 2003, but was pulled off by Big Life Managment at the last moment. Imagine Iron Maiden being deprived of a Derek Riggs cover, and you're in the same ballpark.

As much as I adore that album, its sleeve calls to mind the dire likes of the Insane Clown Posse.

at least the font's not so bad.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 21 June 2004 19:10 (twenty-one years ago)

dunno I kinda like it
