I'm not talking about having done a bad job of it, but rather records that you did or didn't like when you first wrote them up and now have reconsidered. I'm not sure, myself, but I also know that once I've put my view into print, I think I become subconciously a little less inclined to change my mind...

I know exactly what you mean, Matt, sometimes I even feel compelled to pimp certain records I've reviewed long after I've stopped enjoying them. One that particularly stands out for me is My Morning Jacket's last album, it was the first review I submitted for Stylus and there's no way that's an 8.6 in my book anymore, maybe more like 6.8 and that might even be generous, I just really don't like it as much as their earlier stuff the more I listen to it.

Most of them. One stands out: a review I wrote of Daniel Johnston's _Yip/Jump Music_ reissue on Homestead. What I wrote: Daniel's mental illness is the primary reason for the interest in his music. What I should have written: sure, he wrote these songs while in the throes of a nervous breakdown, but he's also a great classic songwriter.
