Most people like Fly more than POB? I don't know if I do. I've been wanting to hear Season of Glass.

it's weird -- on the POB it's as if all Coleman gives her is an almost bootleg of a session -- not-official /approved somehow ? interesting set-up, but a one-off, with ono on that one scream track, difficult to take anwhere musical.

on aprox. infin. she paid for top NYC session guys to take care of the music, providing well known pop music harmoies/ norms/ heuristics for her to add her funny stories to -- and she could always sing

( so i prefer aprox. infin. to POB, regardless of fly or glass )

Season of Glass is honestly one of my favorite albums of all time. I think the Phil Spector production sounds a bit dated at first, butreally fitswell upon repeated plays. Goodbye Sadness alone makes the album worth having. And a perfect album cover as well.

Plastic Ono Band is AMAZING. When Yoko's voice comes in on "Why," matching and running with John's guitar squiggle, it still gives me shakes.

Fly's more inconsistent--I love "Mind Train" and a few others, though.

Speaking of "Season of Glass," the post-Double Fantasy 45 "Walking on Thin Ice" is, of course, great. John plays a really great noise solo on his old Rickenbacher short arm (the one he had painted black and used in the early Beatle days).

yeah - i love "walking on thin ice". i just read ned's glowing review of fly where he talks about how yoko used krautrock-y motorik stuff on that album, and it seems perfect for me.
