haha nevermind then

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 16 July 2004 21:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha. Couple of mine are on there as well. Search "kamuy." Or don't.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Woops, search "kamuy" under bands.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Fucking fantastic!

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I want those posters for my new, roommate-free apartment.

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks, man! Or perhaps for your new midget-free cubicle?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

knowing the midget he would scribble cryptic notes quoting lyrics from Pink Floyd's Ummagumma all over it, so I should keep it at home. Can I buy a poster from you when I move??

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you serious? Which one do you like? That's very flattering.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I love the B&W one.

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:25 (twenty-one years ago)

The Roman Polanski one! I'm glad you said that. It's my favorite as well and I feel it is underappreciated in light of the dogtags one. Every time I design anything people say it's good-but-not-quite-as-good-as-that-dogtags-one-no-offense. Drives me nuts.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

nooffensetothedogtagsone but the Polanski one kicks ass more.

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 16 July 2004 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Agreed -- this is a great, great website. A lot of it looks like the tossed off shit you see on the walls of every rock club, and that can be either fun or accidentally brilliant. But then a lot of it is *intentionally* brilliant, done by artists and graphic designers so good you almost wonder why they're slumming with rock posters. Almost, that is, until you remember that slumming with rock posters must be a great way to blow off some steam as an artist or graphic designer. A+

If you want people to see 'em, you have to host them yourself. I totally understand why they put up a safety on this.

Well, the one I picked was a :::surprise::: Killing Joke one...only it was very understated and artsy (tasteful stick figure profile of a knife wielding court jester). Me likey!

This one?

(These images are apparently watermarked somehow, so thw only way I can get them to display even with an absolute link to my own server is to first run them through Photoshop and change the dimensions a pixel or two.)

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Saturday, 17 July 2004 03:57 (twenty-one years ago)

That's the one.

if you like these posters, you can see lots of their designers at flatstock during sxsw. it made me wish i hadnt switched from graphic design to photography during college.

kevin mercer of largemammal print does our show posters:

http://www.gigposters.com/designers.php?designer=8826&s=1

kevin's pretty awesome. his craft is unparalleled in the philly area. even the hipster designers get their own work printed by him. he also makes really affordable to own posters, by selling them in packs [50$ for 6 posters!].
