Recent Things That You Have Played Really Really Loudly When You Were Really Really Drunk And It Was Really Really Late

I have a long list of records that I run to when the spirits move me and boy do I get mad if I can't find my Business singles comp! Now that i'm a full-time dad i don't drink late into the night like I used to and even if I could I wouldn't be able to crank up the stereo into ear-bleed territory. The upside is that I live in a house now and with the windows closed I can play stuff as loud as I want when the baby isn't around. No more pesky apartment neighbors who can't understand how glorious Dissection sound at 4 a.m.! (killjoys. Vibrating walls and ceilings are a part of the wonderful mosaic that is city living.)

Anyway, my beloved and tot went to grandma's house not too long ago and what did I pull out after a big bottle of red wine?: Why it was none other than SSD's How We Rock. It has been one of my fave things to blast since I was a pup of 16. Controversial upon its release among those in the "hardcore community" who were baffled and angered by it's metal riffing and guitar solos, I have always felt that its cover should somehow be etched into Mt.Rushmore. I love it to death. And I love how the intro to the song "How We Rock" is LONGER than the actual song "How We Rock". Sheer genius.

I realize that there are probably threads like this, but i want RECENT examples of late-night hi-fi abuse and any other stories of volume-related misadventures that you care to share.

My friend fell in his bedsit with Don't Stop Me Now by Queen on a deafening volume level. The lady upstairs, she was a pale woman the next morning.

When I fell ass-backwards into my closet a few months ago while taking off my pants and had a hard time getting back up I was either listening to "Happy" really loudly or singing it. Possibly both.

i had a few drunk nights this past spring where i blared scott 4 and collapsed in bed. those were the more poetic/low-level-depressed nights. andrew wk is a personal drunk favorite. also my perennial all-the-time favorite "sheets of easter" by oneida. sometimes when im drunk, i just want to play something that will tear my head apart. i guess raw power too.
