Kevin Mc Mahon primer:

- Under the name prick he released a self titled LP on Nothing records in 95
- Self released the follow up, titled the wreckard, in 2002. This album was brilliant but got no press.

Now he's finally released the debut LP under the Lucky Pierre name. Much of the lucky pierre material dates back, I believe, to the late 70's.

This lucky pierre LP, named ThinKing, is absolutely excellent. Way more pop than Prick, this could be compared to something along the lines of The Unicorns meets Bowie. It's twisted, sunny pop and I recommend any old fans of Prick check it out. With the exception of maybe a few weaker tracks, the prodcution and song writting is really solid. And of course Mc Mahon's twisted vocals are again in a league of their own.

I absolutely concur. It is a brilliant album, and definitely more accessible than the aggressively avant-garde Wreckard (which is awesome nonetheless).

Hell, I live in New Zealand and I know this guy rocks.

Wish it included the phenomenal original version of "Communique," though...

Saw Kevin McMahon live in Phoenix, AZ back in 1995 or 96. The Bowie comparison is appropriate. In a good way.

I'm pretty sure McMahon first released material as Lucky Pierre in 1984 or so, though.
