That way lies rave kids with Dr. Seuss hats.

wear a funny hat and be one of the most nakedly affecting singers in your genre

don't get me wrong, I think Greendale is the best thing he's done since Ragged Glory. And while I'm annoyed the story peters out into generalities, the riff and uplift of "Be The Rain" still work.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 25 July 2004 23:35 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'uplift.' Everything about Be The Rain makes me vomit.

Davie G., Sunday, 25 July 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Be the rain makes me negative vomit. I love it, and all of Greendale.

David Allen (David Allen), Monday, 26 July 2004 00:29 (twenty-one years ago)

no accounting for taste. Greendale in every format sucks. Bad, bad, BAD songwriting (outside of the sublime 'Bandit'), no one can convince me otherwise.

Davie G., Monday, 26 July 2004 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I love Neil Young, but when I saw "Be the Rain" at Radio City last March, I just had to turn away.

shookout (shookout), Monday, 26 July 2004 01:05 (twenty-one years ago)

and how about the wifey on the harmony-flat vocalz? If only he'd take R. Kelly's lead and whizz on her.

where are all the Greendale-whiners tonight? Must be out eating some yakisoba noodles at the local street-fair blues fest while discussing the upcoming track order of "Lucinda's" live one.

Davie G., Monday, 26 July 2004 01:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw the movie before i got the album and i just assumed that Be the Rain was mocking as well as celebrating that characters attempts at protest.

danh (danh), Monday, 26 July 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

therefore, i thaught the song was a touching joke.

danh (danh), Monday, 26 July 2004 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

"thought," obviously

Wow, that was pointlessly prejudiced. As a matter of fact, we all had jerk chicken.
