(sigh) right down to the occupation, this could have been about me.

But I'm only 26 and I just heard this thing on the radio that almost gave me an orgasm, so...

roger adultery (roger adultery), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

the onion had really beaten the indie joke story to death...

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:39 (twenty-one years ago)

are there any jokes they haven't beaten to death?

common_person (common_person), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:44 (twenty-one years ago)

this was subpar, and the last line was just dumb.

amateur!st (amateurist), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:44 (twenty-one years ago)

amateur!st (amateurist), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:44 (twenty-one years ago)

"Area Man Freed From Music Ghetto, Shelves Tortoise And Palace Bros. Rarities, Shamelessly Downloads Britney and Destiny's Child MP3s"

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

That would be ILM on any given day, though.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

are there any jokes they haven't beaten to death?

Aging Hipster's Lifelong Love Affair With The Onion Ends At Age 29

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I miss the "Ask a Washing Machine"-type columns. I'm the only one who likes those, I think.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:50 (twenty-one years ago)

So, the gist of that article then is that Crooked Fingers suck and Six Finger Satellite ruled?

Ian c=====8 (orion), Tuesday, 27 July 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I still remember the glow on his face at the Shellac/Tar/Six Finger Satellite show a decade ago.

Hahaha, I think I have hearing problems due 100% to Shellac and Six Finger Satellite shows. I once talked a friend into driving me like two hours out of town to see 6FS and they were just the opening band. Now I could travel like 5-10 minutes to see a Providence band and do I bother? No. (Noize dudes this is what yr FUTURE looks like!!!!!111oneoneone)

I just looked up Crooked Fingers and if it's the guy from Archers of fucking Loaf, my guess is yeah, they suck and Six Finger Satellite ruled.

daria g (daria g), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 03:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Crooked Fingers are pretty good actually. Although they lay on the working class bit thick-- they do Springsteen covers.

David Allen (David Allen), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 03:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The writers are just writing about themselves though. Right?

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 07:50 (twenty-one years ago)

You gotta know about it to convincingly write about it; so yeah, it's self deprecating.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 07:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahaha!!! No, wait - this is not funny at all actually.

NUXX (NUXX), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:07 (twenty-one years ago)

depressing

OCP (OCP), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Roger you can't almost achieve orgasm without telling us what triggered it! And from the radio no less, that makes it even more interesting due to its usual crapness...
