I dunno if anyone's gonna want a piece of the other hottness, but given the not-so-tenuous link between GI & ILM, I thought it'd be worth pointing out. Here's where they big up Ghostly, & over here is a list of links to other supposed hottnesses (Hottest Phish?) for your bitch-fueling needs.

We have had good word-of-mouth.

"We also have a good marketing team. And deep pockets..."

And they're using those deep pockets and marketing savvy to release great music. Are you implying this is a bad thing? If so, why?

Jesus Christ, there have been at least 5 threads that get derailed when some idiot tries to hint that somehow Ghostly International is not legit because the label head has a bunch of money. It's getting to be re-goddamn-diculous. The guy's bank statement is TOTALLY fucking irrelevant. Accept it.

I like the Matthew Dear stuff that I have heard, but that Midwest Product/Dykehouse "When Doves Cry" cover was a bit of a stinker. Still put that Disco Nouveau comp. on every now and again, mostly for Solvent's "My Radio."

'S certainly true that Ghostly haven't demonstrated the same kind of consistency as x amount of german microhouse labels. But it's also hard to think of another US dance label doing much of note right now...

what's up with his 'deep pockets'? google isn't saying a thing

they have infiltrated ILM with their street-teamers!! ben boyer is on the take!!

vahid (vahid), Thursday, 29 July 2004 01:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm no big fan of ghostly but the assertion that no other US dance label is working very hard is pretty tough to refute.

vahid (vahid), Thursday, 29 July 2004 01:56 (twenty-one years ago)

what is the link between GI and ILM??

dave k, Thursday, 29 July 2004 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

all i know is that the head of ghostly dropped all his players in the ILBaseball fantasy league in the stretch last year forcing me to adopt a "do not cut" provision this year. that's all i'm saying.
