Eddie Van Halen is pretty notorious in the music instrument industry for not actually using the various guitars and amplidfiers he's put his name too -- despite megabucks from Peavey and Music Man, he's been pretty faithful to his old Steinbergers and bolted-together parts guitars (which aren't really Charvels).
