tangerine dream "ultima thule"

forget everything you know about tangerine dream... at least about tangerine dream from, oh, say 1976 on. this is their first single after electronic meditation (from 1971, at this point they were a trio with edgar froese, chris franke, and peter baumann... klaus schulze and conrad schnitzler had both left the building).

what we have here is a flat-out amon düül-style rocker backed with a zonked mellotron etude... nothing quite like their later synth-drip. i quite like it, and along with "electronic meditation" you've heard everything you need to hear from td in this lifetime or the next.
