They deserve a thread of their own, don't they? There is a lot to choose from too. The early noise C.B. The baroque/goth semi-classical a cappella monk-chanting C.B. The creepy porn-metal C.B. The industrial wax trax dance-remix ministry/NIN C.B. The bottomless dub soundz C.B.

Also C/D Body Clock/Skin Chamber, etc.

I actually have to go look up titles cuz all or most of my stuff is in storage.

I loved the story that jarboe of swans told about going out to long island in the 80's to work on something with C.B. and being stunned by these Vinny Barbarino dudes in track suits who recorded in the attic of their family home. Not your average hipsters. And one of them was a school teacher. Same as Bob Pollard, only I don't think that GBV ever had songs about slaughtering prostitutes.

They had some really good moments but I almost thought they were trying too hard -- I am convinced it was because of the school teacher thing. "I CAN LET MY ANGST OUT!" But "Near the Water" off a late eighties album is a strikingly lovely thing...

And one of them was a school teacher.

Whoa. Wait a minute. I grew up on Long Island and this sounds like a substitute teacher I had once.

Oh man, that would be brilliant.

search "Hog Floor", I think it's a compilation of their earliest stuff.

I used to like Skin Chamber a bit, kind of similar to Godflesh wasn't it but more metal-sounding? I wouldn't say it was classic by any means.

Joseph Pot (STINKORâ„¢), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the two Skin Chamber albums. And the Body Clock album which is sorta similar. Paul Lemos has or had two new side-projects named The Breast Fed Yak and The Fistula!

I also like Hog Floor. They have lots of comps that collect unissued stuff. Songs From The Drain is another good one.

I like the Trudge album too. More industrial.

And the early stuff is great if you like noise. I don't know if Swallowing Scrap Metal is on cd or not.

three years pass...

bump

RIP Chris Moriarty, old skool CB member. He hadn't worked with Lemos in CB for a few years (I gather), but they had recently been recording material together.

RIP! I dug your craziness, Chris!

i wish i could YSI the seriously harsh noise track that cuts off when lemos' wife starts yelling at him about how he's being too loud.

fifteen years pass...

this is a severely underrated band across all iterations. Can You Smell the Rain Between is such an engrossing, meandering trip...goth-y soundscapes, industrial dance, skronk jazz, all in one...just a terrific record

ty for bump

my faves are Core (wild squiggly almost-prog), Between Tides (soothing washes of noise), and yeah maybe Hog Floor because it's an overview of styles

I need to check that one you mentioned out. I see they have some stuff on Bandcamp, wish there was more!
