Hey, what's the best program to convert rom files to mp3?

And where can I download it?

And how do I use it?

Thanx

actually this reminds me of a related question, one I desperately want answered. On a nearby college radio station, they did a program featuring all old videogame music. The way they played it was they extracted the music from ROM files somehow. Does anybody know how to do this?

From the looks of it, stream box ripper will work for you if it reads rom files. I can't tell this without using it, which is not possible currently.

The only method that I can think of is to play your rom files out your sound card and into your line in, which is recording. This, of course, will only record the music that occurs while the game is being played (ie - if your man dies and the level music stops, it will record that.)

I don't know how to "strip" (per se) music from a rom file though, sorry.

hi! what's a rom file?

oh

well if you happen to be extracting mega man music...

Shit, i think my question was a bit misleading. I mean the .rm files that only play in real media... duhhh i guess rm stands for real media innit. I know fuck all about computers.

I got the Streambox Ripper and it's easy to use. But could someone briefly explain the differences between bitrate rates? Should i decode stuff at the highest bitrate or stick with say 192 kbps? Cheers.

Ok so i got the Streambox Ripper. It was working perfectly and converting real media files to mp3 at cd sound quality. But now everytime i load a song into it and click "convert" nothing happens. Anyone know why? Or is there an alternative real media --- mp3 converter i should be using?

does it need to be registered/purchased/unlocked etc?

No i'm pretty sure this is a cracked one. If it isn't, would there be some kind of number of times used/time limit? I've downloaded it from like 7 different sources and none of them work anymore. (Thanks for answering btw!)

I think that how the Real Player & associated streaming media works changes in order to stay ahead of Streambox Ripper... I would guess that this is what is happening.
