Been using WinMx for some time now, and while it's fine for most mainstream stuff, I have a demon of a time trying to find new house-y stuff with it. This was none more apparent to me than when I could not download ANY of the tracks that were quite nicely recommended to me in the "New School Speed Garage?"
thread.

Any recommendations? I tried Soulseek but could not for the life of me get ANY downloadable search results. I still buy shitloads of CDs, and I've just gotten back into vinyl, but I love being able to discover stuff online.

you weren't using soulseek correctly; maybe a port problem or something.

Actually, the tracks mentioned on that thread are hard to come by on Slsk, many of them are vinyl only for a good while until they show up on CD compilations (which are easier to encode). One thing you might want to do is to use a program like Total Recorder to record streams from 1xtra or other streaming sources.
