Does A.C. Newman perform New Pornographers songs by himself?

After a hiatus from this kind of music, I've been exposed to The New Pornographers by way of a growing interest in contemporary pop-punk, and let me tell you, I love them! A.C. Newman is touring on his new "Slow Wonder" album and is coming to Washington DC, which is a mild drive for me. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not he plays the songs off of the New Pornographers albums at his solo shows. If he does, that sure would be great and even though I would miss the girl's soaring vocals, I'd be glad not to hear that cat with the creepy voice, who eats my lunch. Thanks so much to anyone that replies.

I don't know, but most of the songs on Slow Wonder are close enough to NP stuff that it would probably be worth going.

Go for the Zumpano discs instead.

Saw him in SF a month or so ago -- decent show, a little rough around the edges but worth seeing. No NPs tunes, tho...

Yeah, I'm only going if he's into Zumpano stuff. such a shame.

See I'm the opposite of Miccio. I much prefer "pop" as the root noun.

Miccio also likes Limp Bizkit and Good Charlotte.

I was actually gonna post a link to that on that thread where Roger Adultery asks how anyone could possibly not love the album. But if all I'm gonna hear is the standard "likes limp bizkit and good charlotte" thing, why bother.

one thing I left out of that article was that anybody impressed by "Come Clean" should check out this unheralded pop band called Matchbox 20, who are identical except Newman doesn't have a donkey-voice and Rob Thomas can actually push his words through a stereo speaker.

btw, Chuck, I love the headline!

Dude, Newman's voice comes through fine on my speakers, maybe you should upgrade your stereo.

I'd be glad not to hear that cat with the creepy voice

Dan Bejar? I'll pretend you didn't say that....

fifteen years pass...

I’ve been revisiting one of my favorite-ever sitcoms, the short-lived “Perfect Couples” (NBC, 2010-11).

This time around, I noticed how much the opening theme sounds like The New Pornographers... and indeed, turns out it’s an A.C. Newman joint.
