The Superfriends Theme is pretty deadly. there's a pretty rad breakdown that you never hear on the show.

None, 'cause they all SUCK! Well, I guess "O Superman" ain't bad - at least it's not as bad as those godawful Superman songs by Crash Test Dummies, Five For Fighting and whoever else. But it's nowhere near as great as the Ramones' "Spiderman" theme or the Butthole Surfers' "Underdog" theme or Attila's "Wonder Woman" (not actually about the superheroine, but whatever). And of course Neil Hefti's immortal "Batman" theme towers over everything here, and not just because MX-80 Sound covered it.

What, no love for Flash Aa-aah? Then here: I give it love. Tender, mustachio'd love. Just a man, with a man's courage. Lightning bolt FX. Sometimes back in the day I'd hear that one-note intro on the radio and get pumped but then Dolly Parton would kick in and I'd realize it was "9 to 5." Sort of like the "Hippie Chick" bait-and-switch.

"Kryptonite" totally grew on me (though I totally had the ugh-no-more-middle-american-sludge reaction to it for the first year it was out [the video didn't help]. I still can't enjoy anything else those guys have done).

I have to give a shout-out to Guided By Voices' "Matter-Eater Lad." Discovering that Rob Pollard knows about Tenzil Kem of the planet Bismoll was sweet.
