Amazing comp, starting with some electro-pop and finishing with a big whollop of goth ambient. Perfect sequencing..
check out Mathematiques Modernes "Disco Rough" or The Prophets "Person to Person".

Mathematiques Modernes' entire record is pretty cool, esp. Paris, Tokyo. I'm also partial to the Metal Boys, on the fine Acute Records label.

not quite as minimal/electronic, I'd still like to recommend the band Edith Nylon, who were a new wave/punk band with synth leads, like a futuristic french Magazine.

having recently scored Ilitch's 10 Suicides LP (not to mention Pinhas' Iceland and Szajner's Some Deaths) in (oblivious) conjunction with adoring Ruth's "Polaroid" track, i can attest to Thierry Muller's jeanyus. the Nini track is classic too. that you can hear trucks rumbling past her window makes me believe in the human spirit or something like that. i wrote a paragraph about it here:

wonderful! I added it in rateyourmusic but it hasn't got any bites yet. Should I have filed it under something other than new wave?
