is this included in some versions of her album from last year ? i did not have any idea as to who/what she is until just a few minutes ago, when i started looking her up.

dear AMG: "popternative" is a very bad adjective to use twice in a review, btw. she seems like a more rocking, less neo-souling, younger version of Res! or something

here are the lyrics!!

I was ridin' my bike on 43rd street
Past the station and
There's one person without a seat
Got my sunnies 'cause the sun just
Keeps on lookin' right through me
Ain't nobody gonna stop me
Baby can't you see

[Chorus:]
Don't go
Girls and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and boys can rule the world
Don't go
Boys and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and girls can rule the world

I've got jumbo polka-dotted trousers
With the empty pockets
It's funny to me that the two of us
Could fit in one pair
Teens and queens on magazines
That have me on the cover
But none of that compares to
Just one night alone with you
And what you do

Don't go
Girls and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and boys can rule the world
Don't go
Boys and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and girls can rule the world [x2]

Having been subjected to her other singles (which usually sound like either Avril meets especially toothless nu-metal chord progressions), I can say that her new one sounds nothing like the others. Also, I hate them all.

Wow, shoutouts to gay people from a pop artist in 2004. How transgressive.

She and Avril and Hillary Dufff and Kelly Osbourne and Ashlee Simpson should form a supergroup......and have their throats slit.

i didn't mean intend my "wtf"ness to refer to the song's supposed social message or progressiveness, but rather it was to express my amazement that it was so quite "good." and to see songs like this at 4:46 AM on the MTV: Pop Hits! channel does seem a bit weird, when i don't think anyone could really qualify this song as a "hit" yet

Still the best bandwagon to jump on evah.

A charitable comment would be that it's vaguely Cyndi Lauper esque. Vaguely, anyway.

Vaguely?

― Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 8 August 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Well it's not really GOOD, which would be a pre-requisite for it actually being like Cyndi.

I dunno, I kind of like it. The video definitely helps it, though.

six years pass...

I would really like to slap her vocal coach for the performance she turns in on this song but otherwise it is harmless and cute

dan if you got to do all the vocal coach slapping you claim to want to do we'd need to outfit yiu with a luke skywalker robo hand after like 6 mos
