The Knack -But The Little Girls Understand...

Isn't that "power pop", CeCe? I thought you didn't go for that kind of thing. Or is it "pop-rock"?

o. nate (onate), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Joe Jackson, 'Summer In The City: Live in New York'

derrick (derrick), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

dude, they hit number one. Pop-rock.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

though the shitty non-hits could be power pop.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I heard one side of "But the Little Girls..." last week, and I couldn't really distinguish the hits from the non-hits. They all sounded like aspiring hits to me.

o. nate (onate), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

You're right for the most part, but "Mr. Handleman" is a pretty obvious non-hit.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Is that the ballad? I remember there was one slow song, albeit a catchy one.

o. nate (onate), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

the track in question quickly hopped from catchy to annoying for me.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Rockist OTM

Sonny A. (Keiko), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, you know I'm only kidding you about the "pop" thing. I was just annoyed because you panned that AC Newman record.

o. nate (onate), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:58 (twenty-one years ago)

well, duh!

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 8 August 2004 21:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Rockist fully OTM. I got that Joe Jackson record on trade when I sold a bunch of CDs for cash.

It's quite fantastic, said as much on the Ultramarine thread -- I actually did have it from ten years back, but I admit I sorta wanted the new version for some strange reason, even though there's nothing different about it at all!
