i mean, so many of you hate nerd rap and everything, but what is this? there isn't anything like this. of course they kind of fell off after tragic epilogue, and they aren't effortlessly dropping profound gems like 50 (who is?!), but their flows are tight as fuck, and their production is amazing idm with real beats. i really like antipop consortium, and i read sayyid name his main influence bukowski.
is there anything else in this vein of rap? not aesop rock, but i heard someone say something abt the bug.
what genre of rap is this?

Bukowski was a CORNY INDIE FUCK.

EZRA POUND WORE EMO GLASSES.

adam. (nordicskilla), Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:37 (twenty-one years ago)

bukowski wasnt corny, just a fuck boy

peter $221, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

he was hardcore as fuck

peter #2, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

he was BETTER THAN EZRA

peter $4, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

fuck

peter $22, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i didn't know what to make of him saying that anyways. he was probably showing off for some online version of urb

peter #4, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i still like tragic epilogue, but it's not really rap

jess, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

well, okay, it is, but if aliens came to earth and said "what is this rock music we've heard so much about?" i wouldn't play them jad fair over the stones, you know?

jess, Sunday, 8 August 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

then what is it? spoken word idm? i'd say techo rap, but people are going to be like "dude, techno's dead"
POX techno rap
1. mike ladd "5000 miles west of my future"
2. anti-pop consortium "driving in circles"

peter $#, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

3. anti-pop "ghostlawns" mike ladd remix

peter $22, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

but if aliens came to earth and said "what is this rock music we've heard so much about?" i wouldn't play them jad fair over the stones, you know?

Would you play Jad 1980 over Stones 1995?

4. eminem - "without me"

xpost: trick question!

jess, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:25 (twenty-one years ago)

YEAH

i forgot there's no verses on driving in circles, just the chorus repeated a few times twice and the beat

Peter $23, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:26 (twenty-one years ago)

These days I half suspect Moby and Eminem would do a duet.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 00:26 (twenty-one years ago)

5. that david banner song w/flip where the melody of the beat is just a random sounding synth and maybe some other stuff. maybe called "what the fuck"

peter $22, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:30 (twenty-one years ago)

moby and em with elton on the hook!

this genre is already quickly fading away, but i think a lot of crunk and gen south could fall in it

another req could be unreal verses like mike ladd and anti pop, but then those indie fucks would monopolize it, with the few southern tech songs that have very few words

peter $22, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:36 (twenty-one years ago)

"talk to me" on mta 2: s&c is the nastiest sounding record i have ever heard

jess, Monday, 9 August 2004 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

tragic epilogue is dope. the beats and music are unique. m sayyid and high priest are good rappers. beans has kind of wack vocal style, but good moments on T.E.

rap in this vein is hell on earth by mobb deep, twin infinitives by royal trux, and first come, first served by dr. dooom
