ned is also in music stores around the country, thanks to those little touch-screen lookup console thingies having the allmusic guide in them.

I demand TALKING NED RAGGETT stations

Red Panda Sanskrit (ex machina), Monday, 9 August 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

That would be awesome!

latebloomer (latebloomer), Monday, 9 August 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

my girlfriend wouldnt understand why it was thrilling to have come 3000 miles to LA to buy a used cd once owned by this total DUDE who i talk to all the time on a message board. shes so lame.

peter smith (plsmith), Monday, 9 August 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Dump her!

Haha, glad to know that found a good home! Recently I've been doing my best to winnow down the archive -- practical terms, less stuff to carry around in the next move plus the fact that I can (and have) saved everything to mp3 or AAC format before selling it back. Also when it's stuff I just haven't listened to in a dog's age or have only heard the once and liked but can't see myself playing again, it just makes more sense -- since I have the backups, I can rely on that if the need ever arises. And finally Amoeba takes most everything I have and gives me a slew of credit each time so I can pick up stuff I really want (thus the bulk of the recent LTM reissues I grabbed) or else get a bit of spare cash.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Thousands of raggett stamped cds must be circulating through Amoeba's used bins.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not there yet. But it's definitely starting to reach the hundreds level now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ned you EMBOSS your CDs?????

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Should I be investing in some kind of stamp?

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm imagining some kind of elaborate royal seal.

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

It is.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a story in and of itself! When I went to college back in 1988, my mom, of good heart, took notice that I already had a fairly substantial CD collection (approaching 100, and this after only having a CD player for something like eight months) and said I should mark the discs somehow if they ever got swiped. I was bemused and pointed out I couldn't stamp the discs themselves, so at a loss I used my personalized book embosser on the booklet. And I've done that ever since.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i have one of those book embossers, too. it was one of the most thoughtful gifts i got for my high school graduation.

peter smith (plsmith), Monday, 9 August 2004 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

What a great idea!
I'm gonna emboss "Ned Raggett" on all of my cds too!

peepee (peepee), Monday, 9 August 2004 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Amazing!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I was LA last month.
I should check all of the cds I bought at Amoeba.

peepee (peepee), Monday, 9 August 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

*checks the Seefeel and Brandi Ifgray cds he bought at Amoeba LA for signs of embossed signature of internet mentalist, finds nothing, disappointment follows*

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 9 August 2004 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't be silly, I'll never sell back Seefeel.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread is inspiring me to do another round of trimming the archive. Amoeba SF patrons watch out for acres of Blood & Fire and Fax Germany backstock.

harshaw (jube), Monday, 9 August 2004 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i just trimmed my archives, and sold some cds my sister-in-law gave me. anybody in college park, md - theres some used diamond rio cds at cdepot!

however, i did sell back some stuff that got me some money, and with some store credit at this one place, i bought a copy of main source's breaking atoms for $5. its not as big a deal as it used to be, but it used to go for like $75 online. since its down to like $25 these days, im keeping it, cause it rules.

peter smith (plsmith), Monday, 9 August 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

ned you gotta sell your stuff at my store instead of amoeba.

Sir Chaki McBeer III (chaki), Monday, 9 August 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned, do you stamp all your promos too?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 9 August 2004 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

ned you gotta sell your stuff at my store instead of amoeba

Will you give me top dollar? ;-)

Ned, do you stamp all your promos too?

If there's room.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 18:25 (twenty-one years ago)

ned ill hook you up like crazy

Sir Chaki McBeer III (chaki), Monday, 9 August 2004 22:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Finally a real live Ned Raggett thread and...
I'm suddenly at a loss for what to say.

Thea (Thea), Monday, 9 August 2004 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

ned ill hook you up like crazy

Sir, you are on. I was planning on doing the next sell-off on the 21st when the FAP is, so shoot me info on when you'll be in and where the store is and etc.

I'm suddenly at a loss for what to say.

Aw. You could talk about playing my CDs on KCRW and creating a cult sensation?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Or the famous Nedstown Massacre of Irvine, California. So many of your most hated cd's murdered, melted down to make Raggett action-figures.

Thea (Thea), Monday, 9 August 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL DREAM

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Lemonade from lemons. It's the California way.

Thea (Thea), Monday, 9 August 2004 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay us, the wonderful.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 August 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

RAGGETTSTACKS!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 10 August 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, they're still there, trust me.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 August 2004 00:17 (twenty-one years ago)

eleven months pass...
Where oh where is the Ask Ned Raggett thread?

Sweat Loaf (Sweat Loaf), Monday, 11 July 2005 10:46 (twenty years ago)

Mr. Raggett, I believe you called me a clown. I have nothing against clowns, but I do want to make sure it was a respectable clown and not those ghastly Insane Clown Posse chaps.

Esteban P. Buttez Esq., Monday, 11 July 2005 10:48 (twenty years ago)

Raggettstax -- the best in sound quality. Speakers, music collection, performance capabilities, you name it, we've got it! Stay tuned for catchy slogan.

Ian Riese-Moraine: that obscure object of desire. (Eastern Mantra), Monday, 11 July 2005 12:41 (twenty years ago)

Wow. I didn't think it would be possible to tarnish the image of Insane Clown Posse.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 11 July 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

Hey Ned,

How are those other Gravitar albums?

Goodbye Brain, Monday, 11 July 2005 13:16 (twenty years ago)

Ned, I put on Black Sea last night and thought, what does AMG have to say about this album? I went to find out and I was pleased to see there were song reviews, as well. It turns they were all written by you! You are right to praise Terry Chambers in four (out of a possible five) cases.

W i l l (common_person), Monday, 11 July 2005 13:46 (twenty years ago)

hey ned

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 11 July 2005 14:59 (twenty years ago)

Hey Ned,

I know you're in Europe right now and can't answer my questions but ANSWER MY QUESTIONS OR I KILL YOU NOW!!!!! ;-) *GOOD THOUGHTS*
