M Carty (mj_c), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 09:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I once read that the Pet Shop Boys had a point in their contract that were they to cark it, their record company would be obliged to title any subsequent release 'Posthumously'.

That would be the best last album name, although it'd be nice if circumstances didn't force it to happen!

M Carty (mj_c), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

The Damned - Final Damnation

Estonian cult prog band Ruja split 1988, but the Soviet label Melodija released their last vinyl in 1989 titled "Pust budjet vsjo" in Russian "Let all go" or something. This album was a real curiosity -- Ruja was well-known as hard-core national group singing only in Estonian but in 1987, just before a (theit first) Russian tour, they recorded their best song in Russian "to spread message". So Melodija released this russian versions. Exactlly in 1989 when the nationalist spirit and euphoria were very high in Estonia and singing in Russian was something near to suicide.

Margus Kiis, estonian rock critic (Margus Kiis, estonian rock cri), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Haaha...I was going to say Final Damnation too, but of course it wasn't.

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Not their last, but sort of their last "proper" album before the big line-up change: Beach Boys - "Surf's Up".

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, definitely Biggie's "Life After Death." How ominous.
