the 2CD I am Billy Childish thing on Sub Pop you mean? Does it really go for that much? I see used copies from time to time around here. But yeah, totally great comp: 50 tracks from 50 records! (he's probably up to more like 100 by now)

i like all the Milkshakes stuff, therte's also a billy childish record called something like Jimi Hendrix was not the only Guitar Player or something, I like that one. There's a great comp of all his 'native american' songs ("Cowboys are Square!") and that rules too.

I like Girlsville and Holly Golightly's Serial Girlfriend (I don't know how involved Childish was in that)

I like his compilation Crimes Against Music: Blues Recordings 1986-1998. Oh and Devil in the Flesh w/Dan Melchior is excellent lo-fi garage blues.

thee mighty caesars - caesar's pleasure

i really don't think there's any 'bad' Billy Childish stuff...somebody correct me if I'm wrong. While it's unusual to be 'knocked out' by anything he's done (except fo the first time you hear him), you'll find there are very few true 'clunkers' in the catalog.

thee headcoats - beached earls is my favorite - its a combo of beach bums must die! and earls of suavedom. i just bought my first milkshakes cd (see "hey ned raggett" thread), and im always sweating thee mighty caesars' truly they were..., but i never pull the trigger.
