Well it wasn't taped over a Def Leppard album, that would say 'Bludgeon Riffola' on it somewhere.

I've got an old Hair Police tape just like this from '99. They were a 5-piece back then. The tape label recorded 25 different bands/projects over old Boyz II Men(?) cassette singles and sold them out of a microwave(?) at the record store for $0.50.

Worth it because "this cassette provides a candid glimpse of the Wolf Eyes creative process."

maybe the dude selling it meant 49.99

Certainly willful obscurity could be bought for a cheaper price? If not, make sure you add something from the seller's other auctions (a $100 Harmony Korine "book" perhaps?).

maybe the dude selling it meant 499.99 PESOS.

peter smith (plsmith), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I See Dead People (roger adultery), Thursday, 12 August 2004 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe the dude selling it meant Bright Eyes

i like how the $500 price tag doesn't cover the $3.50 s/h

Red Panda Sanskrit (ex machina), Thursday, 12 August 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

this seller is a cocksmoker of the highest order

purple patch (electricsound), Thursday, 12 August 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Jon, where did you get it for $6, since it sounds genuinely interesting...

Softly Weeping at the Oki Dog (Ben Boyer), Thursday, 12 August 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I must admit though, that I want that Korine book that he/she has.

dean? (deangulberry), Thursday, 12 August 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Jon bought it at No Fun Fest, I think. It ought to be available through the standard noise distros; try rrrecords.com, hansonrecords.com (is hanson's site back up???). or e-mail the wolf guys.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 12 August 2004 21:59 (twenty-one years ago)

a line from one of his other high-priced auctions struck me as funny:

also, this LP featured as one of Thurston Moore's (Sonic Youth) all-time fave's in the jazz listing for Grand Royal magazine in which he appeared.

Aww, lay off, he's a good guy. Olson has a right to be pissed, but you guys really don't.

Granted, some of the prices are a little high - it's WAY too soon to be selling this stuff for this much. But you don't know dude's personal situation (neither do I but I know the seller and he's not a dick) and it's a seller's market. If someone is willing to pay $500 for a Wolf Eyes release, well, fuck it man, they deserve the fucking thing.

I'm more bothered by his descriptions, which are plain stupid. I took the crack about Dead Machines a little personally - that's family to me. And I can see why other people would get pissed about this, too, and I think that's where the static is comin' from...

Hey, he's selling one of my records for a large starting bid - I hope he gets $500 for it. More power to 'em. Fuck it, man.
