a friend told me to pick up Rashida a while back telling me it's kinda like Eugene McDaniels, Terry Callier, Gil Scott Heron, Shuggie Otis - folky soul

your friend was right. rashida is great. closer to early terry than any of those other folks, but with great definite carribbean touch. he's fron tortola. mother nature's son is another good one, tho nothing touches rashida.

I Am Now, Mind's Eye, Rashida -- all magic. Just checked his new album and, despite some watery arrangements, it's quite good. His voice remains stunning.

i've since picked up "Song for My Lady" from, and while it's nice, it doesn't compare at all to Rashida.
