My posts and Aja

I probably won't be posting for a while either. I mean, after I finish what I wanna say tonight. Why? The reasons are personal, boring and really none of your business. (As I said, it's boring, so you don't wanna hear it anyway.)

And will you please shut the hell up about Aja? WHY do I remind you of her so damn much?

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

what?

purple patch (electricsound), Sunday, 22 August 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm glad, I managed to resist.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 22 August 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Conor Oberst, can I have your autograph?

MC Frosty Flake, Sunday, 22 August 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

This message was actually addressed to two people in particular.
And I don't even like Bright Eyes.
(Actually I haven't even heard them, but I probably would't like them.)

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Ok, ENOUGH of this already.
Good night.

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

does nowell like emma bunton?

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 22 August 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, if you're not some hoax, and you really are a sweet sincere 15 year-old, my advice to you, if you want to keep posting, is take nothing personal. Most people here don't regard online identities as real people with feelings. Which is how it should be. The other thing is, it's not cute to post six questions in a row. Try responding to someone else's, too. There. Peace.

"aja", Sunday, 22 August 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

scott, everyone likes Emma Bunton! She didn't get to make the 96th most popular album on ILM by being unlikeable, you know!

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Sunday, 22 August 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

This has my first and Middle names. It says Aja Noelle

her name is noelle/she has a screen about her/so now we can tell/that she's got gym class in half an hour/you know how she posts/intelligible, almost/but we don't know if she's re-al/and who could give a damn about it?/'cause she's just a teenage ILXer/climbing the statscock, going unchecked for/hours and hours, this is child neglect on/the part of her "mo-o-om" (oh please)

Oh, i know, Daniel! I posted that cuz I thought maybe Calum got a little tipsy and went on a posting spree.

Someone set up us the 15-year-old Nirvana fan

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Sunday, 22 August 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

AJA is the album in which Steely Dan went wrong, on about half the tracks, or anyway too many: I know "Deacon Blue" ect. are "about" agingg draw-the-drapes self-pity, comforting itself with jazz-muzak, but that's just an alibi. Even title track just makes it hanging onto Wayne Shorter's enigmantic charisma. Imagine naming a child after that! (Although children can have enigmantic charisma, esp. early-teens. Nevermind, as you were.)

Don Allred, Sunday, 22 August 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

dude there was even a point last night where Nowell asked me what I was into and I said Steely Dan (and King Crimson).

AaronHz (AaronHz), Sunday, 22 August 2004 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Enigmancer, you have confused me with your two personae ans/or vice versa (hence typos).Gemini's Twin, now playing, aight?

I nominate AaronHz as the new Eisbar.

jaymc, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:17 (twenty-one years ago)

how's that?

AaronHz (AaronHz), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Man, I really am just a sweet, bored fifteen year old girl. For the love of God, PLEASE, stop ridiculing me. You know how teenage girls are. Everything seems like the end of the world for us. HONESTLY.
You probably don't believe me when I say that I'm just a kid, but I'm telling you, it's absolutely true.
So there.

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Eisbar liked to humor Aja.

jaymc, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

post a photo Nowell

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:31 (twenty-one years ago)

FFS why isnt this all on ILE?

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

ah I see, I have been relatively hospitable towards our knew friend.

To that end, Nowell it REALLY doesn't matter if you are who you say you are or not, it's just just a message board. On the other hand, us music geeks are probably more preoccupied with the very recent IDM superstar sighting on another of your threads.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have any photos of myself, cuz I don't have money to purchase a camera.
Fuckin' a.
Why don't YOU post a photo?

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:35 (twenty-one years ago)

"our new friend"

I don't have a camera either, none of these people know what I look like.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

No, seriously, I do not have a camera.
I spend all my money on CDs and books. And sometimes clothes, too.

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, but the burden of proof is on you, Nowell my friend, not me. A couple of ILMers have met me already.

draw us a picture of yourself on microsoft paint, maybe

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

The computer I'm using isn't even mine, it's the people I'm staying with...ok, this is supremely uncool, but I'm gonna say it...it's my foster parents.

You know, within a few hours I'm leaving here to go back to my *somewhat* permanent home, and they have no computer. So you'll probably be hearing a lot less from me.

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe Nowell. She should be a bit less defensive though. That's 15 year olds for you, I guess.

Yes, I'm a patronising shit.

Wooden (Wooden), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Having foster parents isn't necessarily "supremely uncool" - STEP parents...now, THAT'S uncool...

I believe Nowell too. And I really like her name.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

YES! Especially 15 year old females. You've got to understand, we're a little weird and defensive sometimes.

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, I am not trying to ridicule you. I can only speak for myself though. :(

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:50 (twenty-one years ago)

My name? What's so great about my name?
No, my foster parents are cool. I've been in a lot of different ones, but never for long. I always have long term ones, but my long terms one went away for the weekend. I got into this foster care system less than a year ago. At least I'm fed and sheltered.

This kind of information really shouldn't be on this thread.

But who cares?

Peace out.

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm a little creeped out

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Why? Please, don't be. I am a completely normal person!

Nowell, Sunday, 22 August 2004 23:59 (twenty-one years ago)

So no one thinks its odd that Aja said her middle name was Noelle, back in April?

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 23 August 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I swear to God, I am not Aja! Did she really say that? That's got to be a coincedence.
I really, really, really am NOT this Aja person you speak of.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 00:12 (twenty-one years ago)

You're giving away a lot of personal imformation here Nowell. Is that really what you want to be doing? Maybe that's normal at 15. I don't really remember that was 15 years ago. OK, now I'm giving out personal information!

But yes, I'm relatively new here also. And it seems to be about fun here more than anything. Not to be getting too heavy with us all even if the world does seem weird and confusing. But on the other hand, you're expressing yourself and all so why not? Oh I know why not. Because people will think you're just attention seeking and all that, and won't take you seriously. I think on the internet, things can become like a morbid spectacle, and you gotta watch that shit, you do.

So - i found this great radio station online the other day - seriously fun to listen to:

www.somafm.com

I think they're outta San Francisco.

piers (piers), Monday, 23 August 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I get where you're coming from. Good Lord, I must seem like a real fucking weirdo.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

dyson (dyson), Monday, 23 August 2004 00:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, that's how I am. I like peace.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 00:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Ya can't blame me for liking peace.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 00:44 (twenty-one years ago)

you rotten hippie

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Monday, 23 August 2004 00:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just wondering! I didn't know what to say, so I asked what you looked like and how old you are just because. In this context, at least, it's a fuckin' weird, pedophile-ish thing to say and I really shouldn'ta said it..posted it..whatever.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 21:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it possible for a 15 year old to be considered a pedophile while still being herself a er, pedo?

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 21:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, I was just sayin' that cuz maybe some of you don't believe that I am who I say I am. But I AM!
At first I didn't think that question I asked was pervy, but I guess it was. But I was just curious; I didn't know what to say.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

we are all engaged in a gullibility contest here, I reckon.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

This is getting weird.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 21:55 (twenty-one years ago)

My ennui at work was the tedium to which I was referring up-thread; resultantly, I was merely trading jibes with you, Nowell. You are quite accomplished I see -- No harm no foul no skin off my teeth. I shall thus reward you with my image, although I must confess that I don't like the stilted pose which I am striking here.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

What?

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to go now! See ya, maybe tomorrow.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Definitely maybe?

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:05 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, I REALLY gotta go now.
I'm going RIGHT NOW.
I may be here tomorrow.

Nowell, Monday, 23 August 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

RIGHT NOW! hey! there's no tomorrow. RIGHT NOW!

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

you're the one that called her a perv

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

You earnest campiness at the end was surely the dealbreaker, not my flying accusations my man.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe she really had to leave?

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 23 August 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah.

there was a poster named Aja on ILM for a few years. getting into any more detail than that is a long long story.

What was the deal with the penguins?

passe? (Drugs A. Money), Tuesday, 6 September 2011 05:32 (fourteen years ago)

Aja is Burmakitty's teenage daughter who used to post here. AFAIK Burmakitty posted some semi-nude pictures of herself or something (I missed that episode) and some people thought it was inapproriate for her to post them on a board her daughter reads. Later on a poster called Dante, who was the same age as Aja, got infatuated with her, and started a sub board called the Aja/Dante Board (back then anyone could create sub boards on ILX) for their "private" discussions. IIRC Aja's dad found out about this and contacted Dante, who deleted all the threads from the Aja/Dante Board. Later on some splinter division of Noize Board users wanted a "funny" board for themselves, and squatted the (unused) Aja/Dante Board. The board's background was changed into pink with a sliding penguin animation. At some point the whole Aja/Dante board was deleted, though I don't know why.

Nowell was another teenage poster who some people thought was a sock puppet for Aja. There were also theories that Nowell or Aja or Dante or Burmakitty or all of them were socks for other ILX posters. I think the most common theories were that Aja was Alex in NYC and Nowell was J0n W1ll1ams.

Mark G, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 08:36 (fourteen years ago)

Is "Amazing Randy" an alter ego for some ILX poster, or does he just have too much time at his hands?

― Tuomas (Tuomas)

buzza, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 08:39 (fourteen years ago)

If Tuomas isn't Amazing Randy, then no-one is.

Mark G, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 09:05 (fourteen years ago)

I wasn't the original Amazing Randy. However, when ILX moved to this server and everyone had to reregister their usernames, I registered the name "The Amazing Randy" and used it a few times as a joke. I have no idea who Randy was originally.

Tuomas, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 09:35 (fourteen years ago)

lol at aja = Alex in NYC

mark s, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 09:39 (fourteen years ago)

Burmakitty was a Mission of Burma superfan/hanger-on who got into a very public spat with one or two of the MOB wives--I know some of the details but not all of them, so I'm not going to mention them here--and helped destroy the official MOB board in the process. Somehow, the spat spilled over to here, and BK came with it. I was one of the three female posters there, although I wasn't reading the board during the last few crucial weeks. I wonder if BK or someone else googled me and found this place--I was the only one of the three with any real non-MOB related Internet presence at the time. (BK tried to befriend me off board the first week or so--I decided that it wouldn't be a good idea to get close to someone who was that obviously unbalanced, so I stayed away.)

Asiakitty did exist, and I do think she was really posting here, at least in the beginning.

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 11:42 (fourteen years ago)

Ah, okay, thanks for the info! I think the whole Aja = Alex thing was mostly a gag, and most people here didn't doubt she existed. And a while ago someone linked to Dante's Myspace page or something, so he was probably real too. I'm not sure about Nowell though, she might've been a sock.

As far as I can remember, the only other name I posted under was Motel Hell. Aja was -- and presumably still is -- an independent, sentient person in her own right. The whole deceptive element of ILX is one of the reasons I stopped posting here with as much frequency.
