I am. I'm strenuously hoping that it won't be at all like......

Siouxsie & the Banshees Reunion - a Review.

.....but ya never know.

Anyone else?

Man, I wish I lived in New York. Didn't see the reunion, but I do quite like the 'Seven Year Itch' DVD...

for your sake, here's hoping that they're more together this time around. i saw them twice a few years ago, and it seemed like her voice was totally shot.

So what the fuck! Is no one else from ILX going to this? Am I the only sad old gothy, graying fat boy in an ill-fitting Siouxsie t-shirt going to this? ::::sigh::::

It's tonight, by the way.

I went to the same show you were at -- the 7 Year Itch tour. I was stuck under one of the balconies on the side. The sound was sucktastic. And Patricia Field nearly bulldozed right over me. Siouxsie looked hot in that rhinestone bra. Overall, yeah, I wasn't exactly jumping for joy. Let us all know if tonight is a (two-hour) rehash of the show.

Just got back. Drunk (shockah!!!). Not horrible, but not legendary. LOTS of Creatures stuff. Banshee-wise, we were treated to "Christine", "Happy House", "Kiss Them for Me", and....ummmmmm......some b-side or another. Creatures-wise, we got "Standing There", "Godzilla" and a fuckload of others (no "Right Now", btw).

Sioux looks fuckin' great. Portly Knox Chandler back on guitar. Budgie is amazing still.

I like B.B. Kings...good venue, you're always close.

Och, my aching head. Morning after. Day off, but ejected from the apartment to let the tri-weekly cleaning lady work her wizardry. In any event, I have to say, I was quite impressed with BB King's. The location couldn't be worse (right in the belly of the beast, and not an interesting beast)but once you're inside, it's a stylish, intimate venue with good sight-lines from everywhere in the place. Sort've like a lusher Fez or like dear, departed Tramp's (without columns!)
I would certainly go back there....if the show was right.

Back to the show last night, Sioux was also flanked by a Kodo drummer, a keyboardist and two twin (!) back-up singers. The show was sold out, so it was packed....not as many flagrant "goffs" as expected. I mean, yeah, the predominant color on display was black, but y'know...that's certainly not out of the ordinary in NYC. I didn't realize what a gay following Sioux has (I went with my next door neighbor, who is gay, so duly informed me of this....my gaydar is faulty, apparently). Anyway, I good time had by all. I would've preferred a bit more Banshee material. Oh, also, short set...and then, like, four encores. I mean, what's the point? Just put in a longer show, for pete's sakes. Minor quibble.

cinniblount (James Blount), Monday, 6 September 2004 21:15 (twenty years ago)

I was supposed to be interviewing her for the Seattle Weekly but the press guy seems to have disappeared! Grr!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 6 September 2004 21:31 (twenty years ago)

Bummer. The friend of mine who went with me last night interviewed her some time back, and said she was lovely. She even gave him a hug. Imagine that, eh?
