The Invisible Stephen Duffy

Does anyone know of a turn of phrase or a sentence, residing somewhere in H.G. Wells' novel, 'The Invisible Man', which might serve as a convincing description of the long suffering underground pop-star, Stephen Duffy? I've been searching through the pages for days, but can only find one possible transplant: ' ... himself is unknown.' (page 62) I need to glean a good description of Stephen Duffy from this book by Febuary 1st.

maybe you should look in Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man instead...It's a better book anyway. So, is Tin Tin (SD) unknown? I guess in the UK where every musician is trying to chart, he has had a lack of success. BUt I say that the Lilac Time were one of the best bands of their time and their latest incarnation is fine as well. And a lot of his solo stuff is very good too. I'm gonna start a lilac time/SD thread...
