x post. got the thing about them owning a third of athens from a documentary I saw about them. It said that lots of people in the town was bankrupt during the early-mid nintees recession and that they, being flushed with cash at that point, decided to help out, by buying loads of property from the banks and renting it to its previouse owners at low prices. thanks ray:-)
