On the same premise, gimme the date-bed correlation (or LP/singles-bed corro if you can't do dates) for Mark E.Smith, Tom G. Warrior, Diana Ross, Jonathan King...

mark e-ah: probably sometime after this nations.... although he's always sounded as if even masutrbation is too much of a bother. (maybe he shoulda fronted GREEN DAY.)

diana ross: half-way through the extendo disco-remix of "love to love you baby" is when that evil dr. frankenstein moroder sucked all of the sex-juice outta her for good, leaving nothing but a dried out husk wandering around like a blighed extra from a george romero movie.

that wasnt diana ross.

diana ross has never sounded like she'd be "good in bed" (like i'd know anything about anything like that)

Jonathan KJing - probably peaked in the 1st minute of the 17 min. disco remix of "Leap Up & Down & Wave Yr Knickers In The Air".

I should say that I've no idea of Green Gartside's actual qualities "in bed". However there is plenty of evidence for my claim viz:

1978-1979: lived in horrible communal squat. Would probably have presented you with itemised bill (sorry delineation of means of production and exchange) for shag. Unable to keep a steady rhythm - great if producing spasmarxist doubt-beat, less great in other circs.

1982: Writes song called "Sex". Somewhat gauche but showing willing.

1985: Inner sleeve pic in executive washroom showing Green now familiar with the finer points of personal hygiene. Music now highly danceable heh heh. (Also gets in outside producers - kinky!)

(the three dots were a way of saying, throw this open to whoever you can be mean that is provocative and insightful about)

There are just far too many who have never left the stage of Onanistic Frenzy.

Fingernail are having their post-coital cigarette and starting to feel horny again.

Sonic Youth can't remember what sex is.

Daft Punk got confused and started making beds. Lightweight aluminium ones. Futuristic, man.

Sonic Youth can't remember what sex is.

Quote of the week.

Sonic Youth can't remember what sex is.

As long as they remember what confusion is.

Re Scritti: "Sex" sounds to me like an excruciatingly painful priapism.

"spasmarxist doubt-beat"

This is my most favourite thing that Tom has ever written. I wish I'd thought of it.
