On another board, this guy Mub had a funny comment : "Other than Big Black and Naked Raygun, I just couldn't get into the Windy City's London obsession -- listen closely, and tell me they weren't yearning for jolly ol' England, Pegboy included. And, if you weren't previously aware, I believe that the fog-breathers have committed more crimes against rock 'n roll over the past 30 years than any other locale."

In another post, he had a good point by point Saints vs. Sex Pistols critique that I'd have to agree with (Saints win).

To say nothing of Florida's saving grace: its status as ground zero for death metal. Morbid Angel is from there. "Breathes there a man with soul so dead/who never to himself hath said/'Damn, that Trey Azagthoth plays a mean-ass death-metal solo?'" I thought not. Whatever city or municipality played host to Snake River Conspiracy's recorded massacre of "How Soon Is Now?" gets my vote. Even people who don't like the Smiths cry when they hear what those awful people did to that perfectly nice song. Skynyrd's from Florida, not to mention the whole Morbid Angel/Death/Obituary axis. New York has consistently commited the most high profile crimes against rock, due mostly to the cadre of chauvinistic rock mythologizers writing from there. Where else could Richard Hell have been taken seriously?
