I hate to sound indie-retarded, Ben, but do you know that Jawbox song that starts off cold with bass and vocals? I don't know the lyrics, but the rhythm is something like "I took the black-sun-glass-ess / I put them ON / It was then-and-there-that-I-saw / YOU were GONE". Like I said, those ain't the lyrics, but I don't know the real ones.
