Just wonderin'.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

My appreciation of many genres of popular music and my tight virginal vagina.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:54 (twenty-one years ago)

You lift your shirt up and shout the name of your favorite band at every opportunity.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Stupidity.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

That wouldn't be me then.
n/a, you sure are sarcastic.
I gotta go now.

And I'm not stupid.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

liking music because it's emotionally affecting or danceable. Occasionally you are blinded by the hottness.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, this was a smashing success.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

*lifts up shirt*

BASTEROID!!!

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 20:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, also exceptionally low standards.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

who you callin' teenage?

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

You learn about music from miniature CDs that come free in cereal packets or enclosed in the lids of fast food soft drinks.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

You laugh at me, frequently.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 21:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Man, I shoulda lied about my age.
No matter what music I say I like, you're all gonna say it's stupid just cuz I'm a teenage girl.

But I hate lying. Actually, I'm too lazy to lie.

What reasons do adults have for liking music?

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Their lives are crap and they need music to somehow stimulate emotion that daily experience just cannot provide.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

i need somethign to move like a robot by.

:| (....), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:09 (twenty-one years ago)

What are you trying to say?
EVERYBODY deserves music!
You're just tryin' ta get me offa here, huh?
That's not very nice.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

:| (....), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

GOD! Why do I even fucking bother?
I'm just getting meself a bad reputation on this thing.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I was talking about adults in my last post.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh.

There I go, jumping to conclusions.
I'm embarassed. Really.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah-huh.
Anywayz..
I don't know what else ta say.
Except that I'm outta here in about ten minutes.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Gotta go. Later.

Nowell, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

matthew james (matthew james), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

"I don't like Courtney Love cos she's, like, old. And Alex in NY is, like, way old. Totally."

I'm American, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I will note that my description of typical female teenage fan also applies to me. I'm just more verbose and quick to rationalize.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Courtney Love is older than me....so go felch yourself!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

What reasons do adults have for liking music?

Having survived to adulthood.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Liking Yellowcard and The Killers.

The Good Dr. Bill (Andrew Unterberger), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 03:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Wouldn't it be cool if Nowell turned out to be Avril?
Or Lisa Suckdog?
Or BOTH!?!?!?!?!?!

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I do not sound like Avril Lavigne.
Or Lisa Suckdog..whatever the hell that means...
I'm a nice person. Not a hippie. Just a pretty nice person.
And I definitely do not say "like" a lot.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

It's unbelievable how fucking snobbish and sarcastic you all are.
It's annoying as fuck.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, you realize that most of us aren't typical female teenage music fans, right? A majority of us are male, and a larger majority are out of our teens. And arguably, most of us don't really like music that much.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Then why the HELL are you here?

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

why dont you tell us what defines YOU as a female teenage music fan, nowell? that seems to be what's important around here.

peter smith (plsmith), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

We just think we like music, but mainly we like the memory of music and the memories that music leads to. We are old coots.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Also you can't take any of us too seriously.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have much memories of music (I'm too young).
But I've always been into old music and the history of music.
Maybe I just think I like music too.
And I'm only 15!

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Except me. I'm always deadly serious.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Sure ya are, Wooden.

I gotta go soon.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

dont we all.

:| (....), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I really do have to go soon.
This is boring.

No, it's not.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I love how all your posts look like poems, Nowell.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah. Thanks, Mr. Sarcasm.
I gotta go now. Later.
:)

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Bye.

Mr. Sarcasm (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, ILM is not the same as AIM or a telephone call.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

She does post this "I've gotta go" stuff on nearly every thread she's on doesn't she?
Totally unnecessary kiddo. When you've gotta go just leave.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I just like saying when I'm going to leave.
Fine! I won't do it anymore!
Why do you even care?

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

He's got a crush on you.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 20:37 (twenty-one years ago)

No, he doesn't.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 20:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I need a full grown woman.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Defensive.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry dude, I think baby fat and half-developed titties are gross. I'm not into it.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I get it.
You don't need to be so defensive.

And baby fat is not gross. Well, not always.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, don't get annoyed, they're just teasing. Everyone gets teased here, young or old.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, you're sayin' that teenage girls are gross.
And here I thought teenage girls had sex appeal.
Jailbait!

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It works for a lot of guys. Not me.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Good. I like that.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

If he invites you round to his house to play with his kittens, Nowell, DON"T GO.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:25 (twenty-one years ago)

hahahaha

AaronHz (AaronHz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Uh-huh.

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Most girls I know seem to like Hoobastank. What an awful world.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

(clearly they only "seem" to like them however)

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't like Hoobastank.
Why, how old are these girls?

Nowell, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

4 months

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't seen Nowell profess to liking anything particularly terrible.
I'd say she's on the right track at least.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Who is Nowell really? I missed that thread. She is not a teenager and she is not female.

Female intuition...I think she is Ned.

Aaaaahahahhahah.

Thea (Thea), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I think she's real. If she's not, it's someone doing a very good job, and fair play to them for suckering me.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell tries too hard to be real, I think. And her "figure-of-speech", or whatever you'd call conversing online is too grammatically correct and conversationally mature to be a teenie-bopper.

Though people used to mistake me for my mother on the phone when I was six, so perhaps I'm full of shite.

Thea (Thea), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I think she's for real. My daughter used to have a friend who told her (with a straight face) that it was rude and inconsiderate to disagree with her. I read Nowell's posts in this person's voice.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Fifteen year olds are perfectly capable of writing grammatically correct sentences. It's not that young.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:40 (twenty-one years ago)

No, it's not just the "grammatical correctness", exactly. It's the tone, somehow.

And I don't quite get what you're saying, Rock but as it doesn't really matter either way, I won't push my opinion.

But I love my theory that it's Ned; that'd be brilliant.

Thea (Thea), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

YO CAN I GET SOME PUSSY? HOLLA BACK

TWENTY, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

She's going to love us discussing her like this.

You guys suck. I hate people talking about me.
No wait, it's actually ok.
Maybe it's not. I gotta go.

(Sorry, Nowell)

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I love how motherly all you dudes are with Nowell. It makes me hope she is "Nowell", actually.

Thea (Thea), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 23:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I am who I say I am!
And it's nice to be "mothered".
Isn't that cheesy?

Nowell, Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Do I really seem so smart? Adults are always telling me I'm smart.
Unique. But adults say that to every fucking kid, mostly the ones that're shitty people.

And just cuz I'm a teenage doesn't mean I'm a teenybopper, you know.

I probably do try too hard to be real. But I'm just a naive teenager.

Nowell, Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

As a teenager, I would like to say: KILLAH JAMS.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

ah, youth.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, except i'm not a girl. i guess i missed that part of the title. carry on.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Killah Jams?

Nowell, Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

What are you talkin' about?

Nowell, Thursday, 16 September 2004 20:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Can we debate the thread question? It's actually kinda incisive and brilliant.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 16 September 2004 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, you know... KILLA JAMZ!!!!! i dunno man. nevermind.

I think typical teenage girls like the White Stripes and stuff.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 16 September 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I aspire to be a typical female teenage music fan (which nowell isn't obv) 'cos I'm interested in ways of consuming stuff that don't totalize, also I am kind of obsessed with the idea that people who let music flutter into and out of their lives are on to something, possibly because they were hot in school. This may also be why I gender it female, I guess...

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 16 September 2004 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

My daughter has totally given herself over to anime soundtracks.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Thursday, 16 September 2004 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

While I'd imagine the "TYPICAL" female teenage music fan MIGHT have different priorities than her male counterparts (i.e. "are they cute?"), but I younger music fans refreshingly more objective about their music (i.e. not caught up in unquestioned, age-old prejudices based on ridiculous preconceptions about genre).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 16 September 2004 21:14 (twenty-one years ago)

that should've read...I FIND younger music fans...blah blah...

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 16 September 2004 21:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I got ya.
The White Stripes are okay...I hardly listen to their records though.
I get kinda tired of 'em.
I can't really say which music I take to heart. Or something. Whatever.

Nowell, Thursday, 16 September 2004 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

four years pass...

Just wonderin'.

velko, Saturday, 11 July 2009 21:52 (sixteen years ago)

Let's not stereotype, shall we. Only perverts wish teenage girls listen to this or that.
